# Assistant Quota

> How the AI Assistant's quota is calculated per billing period, and what happens when it runs out.

Using the AI Assistant is part of your *Subscription* and limited per billing
period. You can see the current standing under *Settings*.

## Order of consumption

| Step | Source |
| - | - |
| 1 | Quota of the current billing period |
| 2 | Purchased quota – carries over beyond the period until it is used up |
| 3 | Block, until the next period begins or quota is purchased |

  Once purchased quota is exhausted as well, the assistant stops responding.
