# Set Strict Mode for Documents

> Enable four-eyes approval for editing and approving documents.

Under *Administration › Documents* you set permissions and approval for
documents. How the page saves is described under [General, Saving the
Settings Pages](/docs/en/settings/general#saving-the-settings-pages).

## Strict Mode

<Warning>
  In strict mode, only the responsible party edits or requests; only the
  approver approves or rejects. The responsible party and the approver
  cannot be the same person. Before switching it on, check where the same
  person is entered today in both roles.
