# Security

> Change the password, set up or reset two-factor authentication.

The identity provider manages password and two-factor authentication at
sign-in — not Docusnap365. *Security* offers three actions; two of them lead
out of the application.

## Password

*Change* redirects immediately, without a confirmation, to the Docusnap365
sign-in page; you set the new password there.

<Warning>
  Save any open input on other pages before clicking *Change* — the redirect
  happens without a confirmation, and unsaved changes are lost.
</Warning>

## Two-Factor Authentication

Only a TOTP authenticator can serve as the second factor.

| State | Button | Effect |
| - | - | - |
| *Not Set Up* | *Set Up* | signs you out after a confirmation; setup itself follows at the next sign-in |
| *Active* | *Reset* | invalidates the authenticator currently set up, after a confirmation; it then has to be set up again |

<Warning>
  *Set Up* signs you out immediately after the confirmation; unsaved changes on
  other pages are lost. *Reset*, by contrast, stays in the application.
</Warning>
