The “Golden System” Report

The ”Golden System” Report allows you to select a reference system that serves for comparison in order to see whether the other Windows systems in your Docusnap database have all required hotfixes and software installed.

This report can be used to answer questions like the following:

– Has the KBXXXXXX hotfix been installed on all my servers operating on Windows Server 2012 R2?
– Is all required standard software installed on all my client systems?
– Which systems have additional software installed?

To access the “Golden System” report from the tree, select:

Company – Infrastructure – Domain – Reports – Security – Golden System

When you start the report, a window displays where you can specify the settings for this report.

Select Reference System

Select the desired reference system from the list of inventoried Windows systems.

Consider only Systems with the Same Operating System

If you enable this checkbox, Docusnap will only compare Windows systems that have the same operating system as the reference system.

Show Missing Hotfixes / Show Missing Software

This report is based on the selected reference system. If you enable the “Show missing hotfixes” and/or “Show missing software” checkboxes, the report will list the compared systems and all hotfixes and/or software products that are installed on the reference system but not on the compared systems.

The report in the following screenshot shows the selected reference system named “DSBK01” at the top. Below, the compared system “DSDC01” and all hotfixes that are installed on the reference system but not on the compared system are listed.
