Tasks brings together what is still to be done in the subject areas: measures from ISMS and CVE Analysis, reviews from document control in Docs, items coming due in ITAM, and tasks you create by hand. The item itself stays in its subject area: an ISMS measure remains an ISMS measure, even when it appears in this list.

Derived and Manual Tasks

On a derived task, Task, Visible from, Due and Assignee are locked. These values belong to the subject area that created the task; you change them there.
The interface does not mark the kind of a task and does not explain the locked fields. If an open task has no Complete although you have write access and the task is not suspended, it is a derived task.

Suspended Tasks

A suspended task counts as open and does not appear in the Archive. You can only view it: all fields are locked, and it cannot be included in a bulk edit. A callout in the sidebar states the reason. The task becomes open again once its Subject is available again.

Lists

The key figures above the list refer to the list that is open; under My Tasks they count only your own tasks. The Archive has no key figures, and nothing is created there. How search and filters work together in the list is described under Lists and filters.

Visible From and Planned Tasks

Visible from is the day from which a task appears in the lists. If the field is left empty, the day is derived from Due minus a lead time; a task without Due is then visible immediately. Visible from must not be later than Due. Tasks before their Visible from date appear only with the Include Planned switch. The switch also applies to the key figures.
Include Planned is saved per list. Turning it on under All Tasks leaves it unchanged under My Tasks. If a task is missing from a list, check this switch first.

Create and Edit Tasks

Creating, editing, Complete and Reopen require write access in the Tasks area. Without write access you can only view a task; Delete depends on the delete permission of the area. Roles and permissions are described under Users. When you create a task, only Task is required. If the new task does not match the active filter of the list, it does not appear there.
The Description is saved after the task. If only that part fails, the task is still created, and a warning says so. Add the description through Edit instead of creating the task a second time.
A completed or cancelled task cannot be edited. You bring a manual task back from the Archive with Reopen; a derived task is reopened only by its subject area. If the person assigned to a manual task can no longer be assigned, for example because they were deactivated, Assignee is empty when you edit the task. Assignee offers only active users.

Change Several Tasks

Edit Multiple is available from two selected tasks and changes Status, Priority, Assignee and Due. If one of the selected tasks is derived, only Priority remains. Complete, Reopen and Delete also work on a single selected task through the selection. Delete is possible for every task, including a derived one.

Subject and Journal

The Subject opens the asset, risk, assessment or document of the task in a new tab; for an ISMS or ITAM task, directly on the matching tab of the detail page. If it is deleted or unreachable, the Subject is not a link; an information icon states the reason. The Journal in the sidebar shows the changes to the task. How search and filters work together in a list is described under Lists and filters. Which permissions a role includes is described under Users.
