The search field in the header
The search field shows the shortcut Ctrl+K. On the Mac, ⌘+K opens the search; the interface does not name this variant.A hit opens the detail page directly; there is no results page listing
several hits side by side. To compare several entries, use the lists of the
respective module.
Target of a hit
A hit always opens the detail page, never a deeper view — searching for an IP address lands you on the system, not on its network settings. The tab then opens in the area the entry belongs to, even while you are working in a different area.Search field empty state
Without input, the search shows recently opened entries plus the actions Asset and Scan Job. They open the respective creation form directly. Each action appears only if you are allowed to create entries in its area: Asset in Inventory, Scan Job in Scan. If the preview is not enough, Show all loads the further hits for the same search. The environment filter
The Environment Filter — the funnel button in the header — behaves differently from a search or a filter inside a list: it does not narrow a single view but every list and every metric of the application at once, even when no list is currently open. You can filter by Organizations, Domains, Platforms, Locations and Tags. Where organizations, domains, platforms and locations are managed is described under Environment Data. Tags are assigned on the asset. If the environment filter reports that the filter data could not be loaded
completely, not every existing value is offered. A selection based on it may
narrow the result differently than intended.
Draft and apply
Selections first change only a draft; only Apply takes effect. After the reload, every tab that was open before is available again — not
only the one last active.
Active filter indicator
An active filter marks the funnel button with a dot, without a number. Pointing at the button shows how many filters are set.A list with fewer rows than expected, or a metric lower than usual, can be due
to the active environment filter rather than the inventory itself.
