The Storage scan module captures storage systems reachable through an HTTP endpoint. It belongs to the Storage category and runs the standard wizard path: Basics › Targets › Schedule › Summary.

Prerequisites

The module captures the HPE storage systems 3PAR, Alletra and Primera through their API. The Provider column of the targets selects the model.

Permissions

The account needs read permissions in the Browse role.

Network requirements

  • The WSAPI server runs on the storage system (command startwsapi).
  • The firewall allows the port.
  • If a proxy sits in between, it may need exceptions.
If the gateway cannot reach the storage system, scan it with the Discovery-HPE.exe scan script—see Scanning by Script.

Entering targets

Each row of the target list carries three columns:
Unlike with the system modules, the Credentials column here may not stay empty—Storage is not one of the modules allowed to run under the gateway’s service account.
