Every relation has a type. The type has two labels—one per reading direction. Which one appears depends on the side you view the relation from: from the Windows system it reads Installed software, from the software Installed on. There are two groups of types:
  • Selectable types are the ones you choose yourself in the Add Relations dialog.
  • Automatically determined types are set by Docusnap365 based on a rule for the pairing of source type and target type. They do not appear in the selection list.

Selectable types

A bidirectional type applies in both directions; the dialog shows a double arrow for it. The selection list shows each type’s reverse direction in parentheses, for example Uses (Used by). Bidirectional types appear without an addition.

Automatically determined types

If a rule exists for the pairing of source type and target type, the type is fixed. In the Add Relations dialog, the rule applies per group of targets of the same type; what this looks like when you create a relation is described in Create and edit relationships. If no rule applies to a relation from a scan, it receives the type Assigned to; from the opposite side it reads Has assigned. The types for ISMS and CVE analysis occur from Business on.

Connected to, Contains, Belongs to, Manages, Managed by, Assigned to, and Required by are labels of both selectable and automatically determined types. The label alone does not tell you whether the type was chosen or determined by a rule.
