Software

Every scan of systems — Windows, Linux, macOS — creates two types: the individual installed software per system and, above it, the software product that bundles several installations together. Neither carries a view of its own; the installations themselves sit in the Software area on the inventoried system.
The same application appears in two places: as Software per system it is installed on — with a version — and as Software Product for all these installations together, without a version.
Software Product arises from the scan and bundles installations of the same vendor product. Application, by contrast, you create yourself and use to bundle what is, in business terms, one application — even across several products and systems. The two are not the same, see Sites and Organization.

Integrations

Seven types map where data from foreign systems comes from: Email, NFS, REST API, (S)FTP, SMB, SQL and Upload. No scan creates them — you create them yourself when a source has no scan of its own: an order list from the ERP, a contract from the archive, an export from a foreign system. Each type carries only a name plus two properties:
The trigger also records reliability: a scheduled feed delivers regularly, a manual one only when someone remembers.
Credentials for the scan modules that capture software are in the Scan Reference. How a software product becomes an application in business terms is recorded under Sites and Organization.
