You edit an asset on its detail page individually, or several assets together from the list. Both paths write the same fields.

On the detail page

The pencil on a section of the overview switches the entire overview into edit mode, not just that one section. Sections that cannot be edited are dimmed. Save and discard sit in their own bar above the content.
A second click on the pencil discards your input — with a confirmation, not silently.
If you can only read in this area, you see neither the pencils nor title renaming nor Delete. The detail page remains fully readable. You rename the title through the pencil next to the title itself. It appears only if the asset was created manually or Docusnap365 explicitly allows renaming for the type — a name generated by a scan cannot otherwise be changed through the header. On the ITAM or ISMS tab, renaming runs independently of editing that tab.

When someone else changes the same asset

Reload Tab ends edit mode. If there is unsaved input, Docusnap365 first asks whether to discard it.

Editing several assets at once

Select rows in the list to edit them together. A form with the editable columns of the list opens in the side panel, titled Edit Entries by default. If you can only read in this area, the list shows no checkboxes.
Only checked fields are applied to the selected assets — a field with a value but no checkmark stays unchanged. This lets you clear a field on purpose without touching the others.
If you turn on the All selected header switch, the action applies to every row the active filter matches — not only the ones already loaded. That applies to editing as well as to deleting several rows.
Fields with a unit (data size, frequency, network speed, gigabyte, percent, currency) carry their own unit field next to the number. You capture a period of time as a start and an end; both ends are required, or both stay empty.
On a partial success, the response reports separately how many assets were actually updated and how many failed — a full success is never assumed.

Deleting

Above the list, you delete selected rows together; on the detail page, you delete the open asset by itself. Both confirmations name what gets deleted — the name for a single deletion, the count for a multi-selection.
Whether a delete button appears at all depends on the asset’s type and on your permission to delete in this area — regardless of whether the asset was created manually or came from a scan.
Deleted assets land in the Trash and can be restored or permanently removed from there.

QR code

The detail page header lets you create a printable label with a QR code. Object ID, hostname, tenant name, and location are selectable; the label size can be set in millimeters. The QR code links to the asset’s overview page.
The QR code is only available for assets whose view comes from the schema — not for risks, controls, or warranties, whose view is fixed.
