Documentation of devices not automatically recorded
Docusnap offers an easy way to document all devices that cannot be recorded automatically. These devices are important for a complete IT inventory database.
Why inventory your IT assets?
In every network there are systems that cannot be recorded automatically, such as cell phones, tablets, etc. Nevertheless, these devices are required for complete IT documentation. Because only if all devices in your IT network are documented will you have a complete overview, be able to plan efficiently and reliably identify potential security gaps.
How does Docusnap support you?
Docusnap makes it easy to record and manage these systems. You can use the software to document all devices that are important for a complete IT inventory database. Docusnap already offers a large number of predefined device types and classes, which you can use to easily create new devices via an input mask. If you want to enter additional types or classes, you can simply add them. It is also possible to integrate your own lists or databases via CSV import.
How do I inventory my IT assets?
IT assets that cannot be inventoried automatically, such as cell phones, also need to be included in complete IT documentation. In this video, our expert explains how you can quickly and easily record these IT assets manually and integrate them into your Docusnap database.
Predefined schemes for quick recording
Docusnap offers predefined device types and classes that make it easy to capture IT assets. Simply enter the required information in the intuitive input masks and save the new device. If you want to record additional types or classes, these can be easily extended. Docusnap automatically creates the required input masks that are later needed to enter the inventory data. You do not have to deal with customizing. This enables you to document your IT assets quickly and accurately.
Input screens: quick entry of IT assets
Predefined schemas ensure fast and precise documentation of your IT assets.
Device types and classes can be extended as required
Docusnap automatically takes care of creating the input masks.
CSV import of your own lists or databases
You have the option of either creating IT assets manually or importing them directly from a CSV file. In this way, you can import IT assets from your own tables or other databases. You can also import or export the schemas of the IT assets as required so that they can also be used in other Docusnap installations.
Use of IT assets in the IT concepts
To be able to use IT assets in the concepts, they can be added to the documents simply by dragging and dropping, just like all objects. This means you can also use these systems in your IT concepts in the usual way and thus achieve seamless IT documentation. All in one software package, without having to switch between different applications.

FAQs
Docusnap must always be licensed for your entire network - consisting of all Windows, Linux, HP-UX and macOS systems as well as thin clients. Switches, routers, printers and mobile devices are excluded! You can find our licence calculator here.
You only need to license content that is managed in Docusnap365. All objects (e.g. notebooks, monitors, user accounts, etc.) that are inventoried or created within Docusnap365 are subject to licensing.
For short-term projects, we recommend the subscription model. In the long term, the purchase model is cheaper, but the initial costs are higher. Purchase licenses must also be activated in the accounting system and cannot be claimed as 100% expense immediately.
Objects are, for example, hardware elements such as monitors, printers, but also Windows systems, user accounts and IT services. For a detailed definition of objects that require a license, please see this page.
With an active service contract, you receive all updates to current versions and features. For an inventory software, a service contract is essential, as otherwise no patches and updates required for the continued functionality of Docusnap can be obtained in the event of changes by manufacturers to their products.
You can see how many objects you have used in your demo environment. We estimate that about 15 objects are needed per workstation. The number of objects can be increased or reordered at any time without a price disadvantage.
No, a service contract must always be purchased for at least 1 year when purchasing new. We recommend a 3-year contract, which is cheaper in terms of the total term.
Yes, because these objects still occupy storage space on our cloud system.
The rental version of Docusnap always includes the latest version of Docusnap including all patches.
Yes, there is a special partner program, please contact our sales department info@docusnap.com. At this page we have listed use cases for IT service providers and system houses. Even if you are not looking for a partnership, you can still sell Docusnap to your customers as a reseller. We would also ask you to contact our sales department info@docusnap.com in this case.
We prefer payment based on Euro, but also offer invoicing in US dollars. Please note that the currency cannot be changed after a contract has been concluded.
Of course, there are also licenses with a license size of well over 5,000. In this case, we would ask you to contact our sales department.
The license size can be increased at any time without a price disadvantage. You only pay the price difference between the old and new license. Reducing a license size works after the end of the period without restrictions in the subscription contract model. A purchase license can also be reduced at the end of the service contract term. The reduction only affects future service contract extensions.
