IT Analysis for secure IT
Docusnap's regular inventory forms the perfect basis for up-to-date and reliable IT analyses. Whether authorizations, IT relationships or licenses, you have everything in view at all times.
Recognize weak points
Docusnap offers you a wide range of perspectives on your IT network, giving you a holistic overview. This allows you to reliably identify and analyze weak points and optimize your IT infrastructure.
Track changes
Regular inventories provide you with more than just a one-off snapshot of your IT network. Each time you carry out an inventory, you systematically build up a history that allows you to track changes in detail.
Inventory agentless
Docusnap does not require agents on the systems to be inventoried. This makes it possible to find devices that you may not have had an eye on before. However, documenting these too is essential for a well-founded IT analysis.
Secure IT through traceable permissions
Docusnap automatically creates permission analyses for Windows file systems, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint. For Windows file systems, all systems that work on the basis of shares and NTFS file systems are supported. Microsoft Windows-compatible file systems (e.g. NetApp, EMC Isilon, Samba) are also supported by the permission analysis function based on CIFS or SMB. The permissions configured for Microsoft Exchange environments (mailbox permissions) and the Active Directory are also inventoried and documented (Active Directory analysis).
Comprehensive permission analysis
Check for any employees which data they can access. Or, conversely, check who has which access rights to certain directories.
Detailed inheritance of authorizations
Easily determine how the permissions of any employee, both for NTFS and for shares, are composed and how they are inherited.
Visualization of IT connections and dependencies
By automatically capturing inventory data and the detailed system information it provides, Docusnap enables the documentation of dependencies. Automatically determined relationships are entered directly into the CMDB. Relationships that are not automatically recorded can simply be documented using drag & drop. Connections can also be provided with parameters such as SLAs or areas of responsibility.
Recognize open data connections and communication paths
Docusnap captures open TCP/UDP ports and existing connections to or from other systems when inventorying Windows systems. The information is expanded and supplemented to create a comprehensive connection diagram for the network over time. The analysis can be performed graphically or via reports and Excel exports. With the communication paths function, important connections can also be identified for unknown systems and taken into account in planning.
Data flow analysis
Identify bottlenecks and weak points in your communication paths for optimal data flow analysis.
Vulnerability analysis
Identify and eliminate potential vulnerabilities in your communication paths for a secure IT infrastructure.
Document locations, cabling and more
In Docusnap, the physical infrastructure can be recorded in full and mapped true to the original. With the help of the infrastructure editor, locations, assets, IT hardware and their cabling are created, managed and graphically displayed in plans. The components of the passive cabling can also be documented. A powerful wizard also makes it easy to import existing documentation.
Reliably track changes in the network
Docusnap's regular inventory allows you to see more than just a one-off snapshot of your IT network. With each inventory you perform, you systematically build up a history that allows you to track changes in detail. This history can provide valuable insights into the development of your IT network over time and help you to make future decisions. With the analysis history, you can view, compare and analyze the progress and results of past IT analyses in order to draw well-founded conclusions.
Ensure correct licensing
With Docusnap, you always have an overview of your licenses. The market-leading software automatically inventories all your software installations and compares them with your licenses. With Docusnap's license management feature, you can keep track of your software licenses, optimize their use and ensure that you always comply with legal requirements and licensing regulations. In this way, you can avoid unnecessary costs due to unused or surplus licenses and at the same time increase the efficiency of your software usage.
