Docusnap is licensed based on network size – the total number of workstations and servers (Windows, Linux, macOS, Unix, thin clients – both physical and virtual). SNMP devices such as printers, routers and switches, as well as mobile devices, do not require a license.

Docusnap365 is licensed based on objects – e.g. hardware elements, Windows systems, user accounts and IT services.

Use our free license calculator. The tool automatically reads active computer accounts from your Active Directory and calculates the required network size. Alternatively, you can enter the number of systems manually. For Docusnap365, the rule of thumb is approximately 5 objects per workstation.

Docusnap is installed and operated locally – you have full control over your data and can use the software offline. Docusnap365 is our cloud solution (SaaS): no installation required, automatic updates and access from anywhere. Both products offer IT inventory, documentation and permission analysis.

The license size can be upgraded at any time without any price disadvantage – you only pay the price difference. A downgrade is possible at the end of the current contract period for subscription models.

For Docusnap, there are two options: purchase (one-time license + optional service contract) or rental (subscription model). Both contracts can be cancelled at any time at the end of the billing period. Docusnap365 is exclusively available as a subscription model.

All updates – including major version upgrades – are provided free of charge during the contract period. Support is included in the subscription model. For the purchase option, support is available through a separate service contract.

Yes, both Docusnap and Docusnap365 support multi-tenancy. This makes both solutions ideal for managed service providers managing multiple clients within a single instance.
